10/20/2005, 7:00AM ET
London, England (October 20, 2005) - Document Sciences Corporation (NASDAQ: DOCX), a proven leader and innovator in automating the creation and delivery of enterprise business communications, today announced that it has signed an agreement with SWORD GROUP, a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) best practices and services provision. SWORD will develop a Dynamic Enterprise Publishing practice based around the implementation and integration of Document Sciences' xPression solution, and will resell xPression within the European market. The joint combination of xPression's Dynamic Content Publishing technology with SWORD GROUP's ECM implementation experience will enable organisations to automate and optimise the design, assembly and delivery of high volume, real-time personalised documents across multiple channels.
"With an increase in regulatory compliance requirements and rising costs, the need for streamlining an organisation's document publishing processes continues to grow. Just as strong is the need to easily leverage data and existing content across an organisation using an ECM platform," explains Jack McGannon, CEO of Document Sciences. "There is an inherent synergy between Dynamic Content Publishing and ECM, and SWORD has a proven track record of implementing successful projects in these areas."
The integration of xPression with ECM platforms streamlines the overall design, generation and delivery of vital business communications. Companies can dynamically generate highly customised, business rules-based documents, leveraging data from throughout the enterprise, and existing content from within an ECM platform. The composed documents are automatically delivered through multiple communications channels and can be archived for future reference or repurposing.
"SWORD is pleased to be working closely with Document Sciences," says Jim Graham, UK ECM Director for SWORD GROUP. "We're in a great position to help clients understand how best to develop and implement the output component of their ECM system and achieve greater value from their existing assets."
"Document Sciences has an established customer base within the European market and a proven document publishing solution," says James Stokoe-Ellis, General Manager for Industry Lines for Document Sciences. "The support of SWORD's delivery capabilities and technical expertise will help ensure successful IT implementations."
